Coming Soon: (another) Gravitate in Windsor Heights

What’s better than one Gravitate location in Windsor Heights? How about two Gravitate locations in Windsor Heights.

That’s right, Iowa’s largest independent and locally-owned coworking company (that’s us!) is proud to share that we’ll be opening a second location in The Heart of It All™ in the next few weeks.

Our new spot is at 6611 University Avenue, Suite 200, across the intersection from the current Gravitate Midtown space at 6500 University Avenue, Suite 100. We’re proud to have been the Des Moines metro’s coworking home in the near-west suburbs since we opened our Valley Junction location in 2017 and now we’re doubling-down on this part of the city.

The new location, called “Gravitate Windsor Heights” offers tons of free parking and is easily accessible from 235 at either the 63rd Street or 73rd-8th Street exits. It’s also convenient to access on public transit using DART’s Route 3 or by bike/foot on the paved University Avenue trail extension.

Like all of our spaces, Gravitate Windsor Heights features flexible community seating (floating desk) and dedicated desk options, it has eighteen (18!) private offices, phone booths, and meetings rooms for groups of 4-16 individuals. We’ve centered the member experience around access to a large, open kitchen space—we know the kitchen is where everyone winds up hanging out—and have really upped our game with locally roasted coffee and complimentary beverages options. We also have an elevated outdoor deck/patio that will be perfect for some outdoor work time this fall.

Also, before you ask, Gravitate Midtown isn’t going anywhere. The original Windsor Heights location has been one of our busiest locations since we opened there four years ago so we’ve always been on the lookout for ways to increase our community’s footprint in the area.

You’ll notice a few changes there as we get things off the ground across the street but for the most part we expect the current space to continue on as it always has. Well, other than one thing: we’re now calling it the “Gravitate Annex” rather than Midtown.

As always, thank you to our members, guests, friends and team for making all of this possible. Gravitate is now in its eleventh (11th!) year and we’re very excited about this next step forward for the company.
